MOUNDVILLE, Ala., Aug. 8. Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Davis announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Annie Lou Davis, to Lieutenant Samuel James DeFreese on July 20. The wedding was solemnized at the Jackson Hills Baptist church, by Rev. J. V Parker. Mrs. Frank DeFreese, sister-in-law of the groom, was matron of honor, Lieutenant Julius H. Bolgia served as best man. The bride attended Hale County High School in Moundville, and Hillman Hospital School of Nursing in Birmingham, and after graduation was assistant supervisor of obstetrics at the Vanderbilt University hospital. She was commissioned as second lieutenant in November, 1941, and was stationed at Fort Barrancas in Pensacola, Fla. The groom attended Boys' High school in Atlanta and Emory University. He graduated from Emory Medical School in 1940. He was a member of Theta Kappa Phi fraternity. He served an internship at Piedmont hospital and received his commission as first lieutenant in October, 1941. His first station was at Fort Barrancas, Fla., and later he was transferred to the Atlantic Quartermaster Motor Base, where he holds the position of post surgeon. Lieutenant and Mrs. DeFreese will reside in Forest Park, Ga.
