HEISEY, ANNIE LAURA *LAURA*--Mrs. Laura Heisey passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, August 7, 1969, aged 89 years, 1 month and 7 days. She had been in ill health several years.
Annie Laura Bender, daughter of Joseph C. and Elizabeth Bender, was born July 1, 1880, at Bruning, Neb. The family lived at Strang several years and then moved to Geneva, where Laura was “central” for the telephone company several years. She was married to Monroe Heisey at Strang, Neb., August 16, 1905. They made their home in Geneva many years. To this union were born a son, Kenneth, and a daughter, Leta (Mrs. Everett) Ritchey.
Mrs. Heisey was a member of the Geneva Congregational church many years.
She is survived by her son and daughter, a half-brother, Joseph Bender, three nephews and a niece, all of Geneva, and several nephews and nieces living in Pennsylvania.
Preceding her in death were her husband, two sisters, Mary Wells, and Viola Garrett, and an infant brother, Loyd Earl.
Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 10 a. m. Saturday, August 9. Rev. Woodrow Wilson officiated. Pallbearers were Ben Fussell, Howard Hamilton, Melvin Ralston, Milford Scarlett, Albert Sorge and Eric Waltemade. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
