KLOIBER John J. "Jack" was born in Oklahoma City on July 16, 1923, to Joseph J. and Josephine (Stemmer) Kloiber, and died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 11, 2000. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School and then served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After returning to Oklahoma City, Jack married Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Burke on July 5, 1947. They had five children, all of whom survive him. Jack attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He was a Certified Public Accountant and retired in 1979, at which time they began to travel the United States. Jack was a lifelong Catholic and a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Although confined to his home and bed for the last nine months of his life, with a little help from his family and a wheelchair, Jack attended mass for the last time on Saturday before his death on Wednesday. Few families are or ever have been blessed with such a strong, loving and gracious husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Jack is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; his daughter, Linda J. Bixler and her husband, Temple; his four sons, John J., Jr. and his wife, Lauren; Michael D. and his wife, Pamela; Thomas W.; Don R. and his wife, Earlene, all living in the metropolitan Oklahoma City area. Jack and Betty also have sixteen grandchildren, two great grandsons, and expecting two more great grandchildren. Prayer Vigil will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2000 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 1401 N.W. 23rd St., Oklahoma City. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2706 S. Shartel with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sacred Heart Church Restoration Fund. SMITH & KERNKE 1401 N.W. 23rd
