Graveside services for William Franklin Fullerton, 81, of Myrtle Point, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, at the Norway Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Oregon State University Extension Service office, 631 Alder St., in Myrtle Point.

William was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Bolivar, Mo., to William and Neva Pearl (Woodmansee) Fullerton. He died July 30, 2006, in Myrtle Point.

When he was 14, he left home and worked in Kansas, Arizona and California, and arrived in Oregon when he was 16. He settled in Creswell, where he drove truck, worked in a sawmill and ran a Cat. He moved to Powers in 1945 and worked as a loader before becoming a truck driver.

William married Darlene Stanley in 1953 in Powers. They later divorced.

He purchased a ranch outside of Myrtle Point in 1960, and ran it until 1970, when he purchased the old Bell ranch, which he operated until his retirement. He also continued to drive truck for BPS while ranching.

Upon his full retirement, William became an avid fisherman with his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Queenie, by his side. He also had two cats, Charlie and Tiger.

William is survived by his children and spouses, David and Jane Fullerton of Roseburg, Norma and Chris Lane of Sutherlin and Diana and Richard Howe of West Linn; one brother; five sisters; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
