B. M. "Boss" Burchfield, born to Thomas LaFayette Burchfield and Angeline Blue Beck. In researching this person his name has appeared as Bassie, Bossie, Boss Mason and when he filled out is WW I registration he has B.M. Burchfield and even signed it this way. So it is anybodys guess exactly what it is, but I have heard him called "Boss". Boss married Lena C. Gilbert and together they has two sons, Amos and Herman. They lived out there lives in the area close to the Warrior River, Pattons Ferry Road. Both of Boss parents are buried at Prudes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, as are three of his brothers Issac, William W. and John V. The remaining siblings are Mary J., Lissie, Lula, and Bessie.
