Norlene Clark Batty of Vernal, UT, passed from this life quietly in her sleep on Friday, September 21, 2012.

Born August 3, 1937 to James and Vida Clark. She devoted her life to her husband, nine children, and their ranch. Her family and friends lovingly recall and remember her life of service, sacrifice, and devotion to others.

Norlene's early years were spent in Bonanza, Utah. When she started Junior High, her family moved to Vernal where a few years later she met Linford Batty. They were married and sealed January 8, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. She enjoyed reading, playing games, crocheting, making Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren, camping, and learning new things. One of her life's great accomplishments was going back to school and finishing her high school education, receiving her diploma in 1992, and learning to use a computer.

She was proceeded in death by her father, James Clark, sister Eleen Swaner, brother-in-law Jack Swaner, and sister Jimmy Norlene Clark.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her mother, Vida Clark, sisters Tammy (Lewis (Buzz)) Peterson , Lorna (Neil) Andersen, Marcia (Bill) Critton, her children, Lela Don (Daryl) Wilson, Clark (Daralyn) Batty, Bart (Ana) Batty, Joe (Dianne) Batty, Morgan (Nikki) Batty, Marquita (Doug) Scott, Jae Oman (David) Haroldsen, Tony (Danielle) Batty, Abbie (Kent) Christiansen.

Norlene leaves a posterity and legacy of faith, strength, and dedication to 46 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Ashley Chapel on North Vernal Ave.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Ashley Valley Funeral Home and on Thursday, September 27 from 10:00 -10:45 AM at the church.

Interment will be at Rock Point Cemetery.
