Son of William Walker Leader and Caroline Cole, he was born 10 October in Blenheim, Oxford, Ontario.
He was baptized as Jared Albert on 3 March, 1869, in Blenheim, by Rev. W. Ames, Wesleyan Methodist minister.
Married to Rose Virgin, age 18, born in England, daughter of William Virgin and Mary Badman, on 23 May, 1892, in Detroit. The marriage was performed by Samuel Plantz, Pastor and witnessed by George D Grant and Rosa Leader, Albert's sister, both of Detroit.
Albert and Rosa were the parents of Vera Editha, Harold Turner and Charles Albert Leader.
