Memorial services celebrating the life of Ruth D. Ferguson, 87, of Clearwater will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in Clearwater. Ruth passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Country Manor Healthcare Center in Sartell with her husband at her side. Reverend Homer Giles will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clearwater.
Ruth was born on September 15, 1925 in Clearwater, Minnesota to the late Robert and Esther (Houghton) Agnew. She graduated with a teaching certificate from the University of Minnesota. Ruth married Robert Ferguson on July 21, 1956 in Kimball and they made their home in Clearwater. Ruth was very active in the former Assembly of God Church in Clearwater.
Ruth had a passion for flowers and gardening, was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed quilting and had a love for animals. She raised many animals, including rabbits which they sold for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Clearwater; children, Mark (Darleane) of Clearwater, Lona (Robert) Aldrich of Melrose, Iowa; three grandchildren, Rodney Ferguson of Clearwater; Nicole Williams of Allen, Texas, Christy McKibben of Des Moines, Iowa; and four great grandchildren, Gavin, Preston, Carson and Ashlyn.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Max Allee; and brothers, Harold and Lloyd.
