John Ernest Durrance, 83, Bonn Terra Estates, N. Hwy. AlA, longtime resident of the county, died Friday afternoon at Bunnell General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Durrance was born in San Mateo, Florida and moved to Bunnell in 1887. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Bunnell.

Survivors include his wife, Julia A.; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Belgrave, Orangeburg, S.C. and Mrs. Nina Spivey, Bunnell; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ethel Harris, Crystal River, Florida; one son, John W., Espanola; two sisters, Dora Ashley and Eva Allen, both of Daytona Beach; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:00 at Hope Cemetery with Bishop Glenwood Anderson, Palatka, officiating.

Active pallbearers were N. O. Durrance, James Durrance, Custer Durrance, Tommy Durrance, W. D. Jones and Jack Conkin. Honorary pallbearers were Malcolm Johnson, Will Dupont, Lewis Woods, Lyman Gage and Harold Emery.

Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
