Ms. Ponds was born to the late Beulah and Sherman White in Bay Minette, AL.
Jessie was educated in Rabun, AL. She gave her life to Christ at the Little Rock Baptist Church at a young age. Jessie was married to Allen Lee Ponds SR. on November 18, 1951 in Canoe, AL. To this marriage eight children were born. Jessie moved to Pensacola in 1957. she united with the Englewood Baptist church in 1959. She was a devoted member on the Deaconess Board, a member of the Sr. Choir, served on the Mother's Board and worked on the Kitchen Committee. Some of her hobbies were sewing and interior decorating.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Daniel; brothers, Ishmael, George, Sherman Jr. and LB; Sisters Minnie Lee, Reatha Tea, Katie Bell, Dzaree and Ida Mae.
