Mrs. Marshall Dies Of Heart Attack In Oklahoma City
Mrs. A.S. Marshall, former resident of the Buck Creek community northeast of Cowden, died of a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Delia Kent, in Oklahoma City Thursday. Mrs. Marshall was found dead in bed Thursday morning. She had not been ill.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Baptist church at Alfalfa with Rev. W.E. Dittmer, pastor, preaching the sermon. Burial was in the Alfalfa cemetery.
Louise Jane Davis was born Oct. 3, 1869, near Everton in Boone county, Ark. She was married to A.S. Marshall Aug. 19, 1888. They came to Oklahoma in March, 1902, locating in the Cottonwood community northwest of Carnegie. Later they moved to Granite to make their home. They moved to the Buck Creek community in 1911. From Buck Creek they moved back to their old home in Everton, Ark., and here Mr. Marshall died July 1, 1944. A daughter, Mrs. Anna Church, died Jan. 22, 1937.
Survivors besides Mrs. Kent are seven sons, T.J. Marshall, Denver; Ira, Boyd and Fred, Los Angeles; Floyd W., Carnegie; Bryan, Clovis, Calif., and Edgar, Everton, Ark. The son-in-law, Lon Church and his two sons, Norman and Glenn, live in Denver.
All of the members of the family except the Churches and T.J. Marshall were here for the funeral.
