Mrs. William Gast, pioneer Summit Township woman, died Sunday morning at the Wahpeton Hospital following a long illness. Hattie Hellwege was born on Feb. 20th, 1893, in Summit Township and resided in that community all of her life. She was married to William Gast on June 24th, 1919, the husband preceding her in death in 1930. Two children survive, Raymond and Edna. Also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hellwege, of Wahpeton; three brothers, John, of Collins, MT., Martin and Albert of Summit Township and two sisters, Mrs. John Deede and Mrs. H. A. Steffens of this vicinity. Mrs. Gast has been confined to the Wahpeton Hospital for about 3 months because of poor health.
