Donald J. Hodney of Warrenton, Oregon died of cancer Oct. 31. He was 70.

Donald was born Jan. 24, 1934, in Homedale, Idaho, to Andrew and Violet Dickson Hodney. He married Deloris Fackler on Nov. 15, 1953, in Yamhill.

He had lived in Carlton and McMinnville, graduating from McMinnville High School in 1951. He lived in Eugene from 1965 to 1979. He was a transport driver for Farmers' Cooperative Creamery from 1953 to 1988 and a chemist for the creamery from 1988 to 1992, when he retired.

He was named Senior of the Year in Warrenton in 1991. He belonged to the Warrenton United Methodist Church and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed spending time with his family, house painting, helping in his wife's pastoral ministry, sports, coaching and landscaping.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ed of Albany and Don of Hermiston; four sisters, Beverly Huber of Dallas, Viola Wilgers of Heppner, and Janet Sterett and Dorothy Frost, both of Vancouver, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
