KEARNEY - Gladys D. Brown, 93, of Kearney died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Mother Hull Home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Alexandria to Herman and Emma (Dittmer) Molthan.
On Nov. 10, 1942, she married Albert F. Brown in Lexington. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Junior Brown and his wife, Judy, Larry Brown and his wife, Karen, Dennis Brown and his wife, Sharon, and Donnie Brown and his wife, Linda, all of Kearney; daughters, Sandra Edson and her husband, Ronnie, and Kathy Vasquez and Rick Tatum, all of Kearney; 20 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She attended school in Ohiowa. Gladys moved to various states with Albert while he served his country. They settled in Kearney in 1959 and started raising their family. She worked as a nurses aide at several nursing homes in Kearney and worked at the Hammer Motel and Bico's.
She loved spending time with and baby-sitting her grandchildren. Gladys also enjoyed camping and fishing, flower gardening and playing solitaire.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters, one brother and two grandsons.
