Ronald Vincent Cowan, 66, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his home in Camas, WA. He was born on October 19, 1942 in Camas to Clinton and Amelia Cowan.
A lifetime Camas resident, Ron was a 1960 graduate of Camas High School. He was a stay-at-home Dad, a 4-H Leader, and volunteer firefighter for East County Fire and Rescue District #9.
Ron enjoyed his family, gardening, animals, and mountain climbing, having climbed Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens.
Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years, Verla, at home; son, Patrick Cowan of Vancouver, WA; daughter, Kristen Morin of Brush Prairie, WA; brothers, Larry Cowan of Vancouver, and Spencer Cowan of Orange, California; and grandchildren, Emily, Marissa, Bryson, Nick, Cody, Nathan, Kaleb, and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Cowan.
There will be a Celebration of Ron's life on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas.
