Albert C. (Turk) Berkebile, 67, of Rockwood, died Nov. 4, 1976 in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born Jan. 17, 1909, in Johnstown, a son of H. F. and Blanche Evans Berkebile. He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Shumaker Berkebile of Rockwood. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Somerset; a member of the Masonic Lodge 358, Somerset; Valley of Harrisburg Consistry [sic]; Scottish Rite Club of Somerset County; Meyersdale Elks; Somerset American Legion; National Retired Teachers Association. He had retired from the Rockwood Area Schools in 1967 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II where he served as a captain in the chemical corps. He was also a veteran of the Korean conflict. Funeral services were held Sunday at William J. Wood Funeral Home in Rockwood with Rev. Paul Weber officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOFCemetery.
