Sims J. Scallan passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Michele Scallan.

Father of Susan and Gene Scallan. Father-in-law of Missy Scallan; brother of the late Charles, Gladys, Ardean, Lance, Pennie, Camille, Sylvan, Odele, Herman, Sisna, and Turner Scallan. Grandfather of Courtney Scallan and Randy Scallan and his wife, Carrie. Great grandfather of Trenton and Adalyn Scallan. Close companion to the late Georgia Stewart, and niece, Kathy Scallan Orgeron.

Mr. Scallan was a proud U.S. Army World War II Veteran, and loved to share those many stories of his time spent in Europe, and of course his love for NASCAR racing. A native of Mansura, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie for the past 60 years.

We would also like to thank the professional staff and nurses from St. Catherine's Hospice and St. Joseph Nursing Home.

Relatives and friends of the family also former employees of Scallan Brothers Contractors are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
