On 2/9/1837 Lewis married Lois McCoy, a daughter of Daniel & Sarah (Slaughter) McCoy. Between 1838 and 1859 the couple had ten children -- William, John, Peter, Sarah, Daniel, Martin, Samuel, Susannah, Joseph & Laura. Lewis died 8/25/1886 and was buried in Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery

Lewis Igo (97521729)
LEWIS IGO was born 4/20/1801 in Huntington County, PA, the 2nd of 9 children of William & Susanna (Speck) IGO. His siblings were Mary "Polly", Daniel, Betsey, Margaret, Sally, Peter, William, & Eleanor.
The family moved to Ross County, OH between 1807 & 1810 then on to Highland County by 1812 where Lewis remained the rest of his life. There he met and married Lois McCoy whose parents had also migrated westward (from Rockbridge Co, VA) about the same time the Igo family was arriving from Pennsylvania. There were no earlier known marriages when he at age 35 and she 21 they married on 2/8/1837. Between 1838 and 1858 they had 10 children:
William, John, Peter, Sarah, Daniel, Martin, SAMUEL, Susannah, Joseph & Laura. To my knowledge researchers have not established when Lois died but she would have died after 1858 and could possibly be buried in Sugartree Ridge Cemetery without a currently legible gravestone. As confirmed by establishment of this memorial Lewis died 8/25/1886 (which agrees with information from Igo & McCoy researchers used herein). He would have been 85 years old at that time.
This Igo/Igoe family has been tracked with reasonable confidence to an earlier Lewis Igo who died in Baltimore County, Maryland during March 1760 (his oldest son, Daniel Igo, migrated to Huntington County, PA). That earlier Lewis Igo was tentatively identified but not confirmed as a son of Peter IEGO who was "transported" from New York to Maryland in 1672
