Carol was born Oct. 25, 1931, to Thomas Jesse McCurry and Ruth (Messer) McCurry on a ranch near Ballantine, Mont.
In 1938, the family of six moved to Lewiston, where a brother joined the family.
She received her education in Lewiston, Moscow, and Spirit Lake, Idaho. She and her Camp Fire troop would entertain the wounded sailors at Farragut Naval Station Hospital in Bayview, Idaho. Their musical programs were greatly enjoyed by the troops.

Some of Carol's favorite pastimes were growing a large garden, cleaning and selling the fruits of her many walnut trees, bingo, riding the Fun Bus to Nevada, and making quilts. Carol's quilts were hand-stitched and are still enjoyed by family and friends.
Carol is interred at the Moscow Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her eldest daughter, Peggy Eystad Shelton; her parents; and two sisters, Beverly McCurry Anderson and Colleen McCurry Betschard.
