Anna was the daughter of James Crawford and Elizabeth Addams. She married James Gilroy on APR 1827 in Clark county, OH. They were the parents of William, Mary Ann (1833, Thomas Morgan), Henry, Levi, George, Robert, Elizabeth, Rose Anna (1848 IL, Nelson Crawford), Albert, David and Anne.

May 12, 1894 - Jefferson Souvenir - Died at the home of her son, Robert Gilroy, near Tobias, Saline county, Nebraska, Mrs. Anna Gilroy, wife of the late James Gilroy, one of the earliest pioneer settlers of Greene county. The remains were brought to Jefferson Thurday evening and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wilson at the Methodist church Friday forenoon at 10 o'clock, and were well attended by friends and former neighbors of Mrs. Gilroy.

The deceased was eighty five years old at the time of her death and until lately had been a resident of this county since 1855. Of late she had been living with her son Robert in Nebraska.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Morgan, of Tobias, Neb., and five sons: Geo. and Henry Gilroy of this county; Robert of Tobias, Neb.; David of Kansas; and Albert Gilroy of Colorado, who are all grown and heads of families. The interment was made in the Jefferson cemetery where her husband was buried a few years ago. Mrs. Gilroy was a good, kind mother, an obliging neighbor and a Christian woman in every sense of the word and in her death, her relatives have the sympathy of many friends.
