Elias Williams was originally buried in the Sandy Hill Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey. After his wife's death in 1871, his remains were removed from Sandy Hill and buried beside his wife in the Chiswell family plot on April 24, 1872.
The graves of both he and his wife are unmarked. Of the nine family members buried in the Chiswell family plot, only their son-in-law, Richard B. Chiswell, has a grave stone.
