Mrs. Opal E. Rockhold, 84, died Saturday evening, December 30, 1967, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital in Hiawatha, Kansas where she had been a patient for the past month. She was born near Scandia, Republic Co., Kansas on July 11, 1883, and came to Brown County 52 years ago, from Montgomery County. She had been a resident of Brown and Doniphan counties ever since moving to Hiawatha five years ago. Her husband, the late Arthur Rockhold died in February of 1955. She was a member of the Everest Methodist Church, the Order of The Eastern Star, Huron Chapter, the Hiawatha Hospital Guild and held a life membership in HDU. Mrs. Rockhold is survived by one son, Teddy Rockhold of Robinson, Kansas; five daughters, Mrs. Leo (Gladys) Jenson of Whiting, Kansas, Mrs. E. Ferdinand (Lenora) Pearson of Osage City, Kansas, Mrs. Preston (Ethel) DuPont of Kansas City, MO, Mrs. Laurel (Helen) Moore of Hiawatha, Kansas, and Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Rudisill of Price, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Meek Mortuary Chapel at 2 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, January 2, 1968 with the Reverand Clyde Mosher officiating. Ward Henry sang "Near To the Heart of God" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. R. H. Turner at the organ. Mrs. Roy Scholz, Mrs. Gerald Pauley and Mrs. Joseph Zeit assisted with the floral offering. Pallbearers were Tommy O. Thompson, John Oltjen, Selmer Tellefson, William C. Oltjen, Joe Zeit and Roy Scholz.

Interment was at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, Kansas
