Mrs Mary (Dole) Lee dies at age of 86
widow of George C Lee, died Sunday night at Franklin County hospital, Greenfield, where she was taken a week ago with a broken hip, caused by a fall at her home on Coats Avenue South Deerfield; born in Shelburne, later moved with her parents to Conway; attended the Shelburne schools and Prospect Hill boarding school in Greenfield; the first 24 years of marriage she and George lived in Conway and then moved to South Deerfield; he died in Jan 1933; until her advanced years would not permit, she was a regular attendant of the Congregational church of which she was a member; member of Women's Missionary society and the Ladies' Aid society of the Congregational church, former member of the local Women's club; suvived by two sons, Levi Dole Lee of Coats avenue with whom she lived, and Edgar P Lee, an attendant at the state hospital at Monson; three grandchildren, Edgar Lee, Jr of Greenfield, Clifford Lee and Mrs Nelson St Peter of South Deerfield, and two great-grandchildren, Virginia St Peter of South Deerfield and Roger Lee of Greenfield; funeral from Congregational church with Rev. Frank Cutter, pastor, officiating; burial in the family lot in Brookside cemetery [published Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1943 Springfield Republican]
