Charles was my GG Grandfather.

Charles Marion Howard was the son of David H. & Francina Howard. He married Josephine Samantha Beason, daughter of Joseph and Samantha (Morris) Beason on July 20, 1873 in Longwood, Pettis County, Missouri. To this union four children were born John, Jesse, Bessie and Adelina.

Charlie Howard had a hard time fitting in with Josephine Beasons brothers, because he fought for the Union during the Civil War.

Please note Charlie died on his birthday, he went out the day before and spent most of the day wading in the cold river duck hunting. Came down with the chills and died the next day his birthday. After his death Josephine and the children moved in with her father Joseph Beason. She married James Crouch, who John and his brother did not like and they both left home at a young age living with relatives.

Thanks to Dori and Ed Chrisp for the above information and for sponsoring this memorial.

Thanks to Dori and Ed Chrisp, Charles now has a nice headstone. His grave was unmarked for many years.
