The funeral for Ethel Violet "Vi" Rasmussen, 87 of Omaha will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Cutler Chapel with the Rev. Kim Crummer of Epworth United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Rasmussen died Jan. 21 at Alegent Health Mercy Care Center in Omaha. She was born Nov . 4, 1914, in Stronghurst, Ill., to James and Evelyn (Armstrong) Britt. She previously lived in Council Bluffs, moving to Omaha in 1963. She was a homemaker and nutrition aid at University Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for seven years, retiring in 1976.
Mrs. Rasmussen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D., on Jan.12, 1961, and her son , James H. Henry, in April 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonja R. Schultz and husband, F. John, of Bever Lake, Neb. , and Sondra K. Wilson of Omaha; two sons, Eugene A. Henry of Council Bluffs and Alvin W. Henry of Pocatello, Idaho; three sisters, June R. Carle of Eugene, Ore., Ardith M. Spalti and Elva Gibbs and husband Wayne, all of Council Bluffs; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association of Iowa.
