Hazel was born July 13, 1910 in Marley, Idaho, to Louis Jacob Johnson and Ida May Tucker. Hazel was the seventh of eleven children. Hazel attended school in Marley and Richfield.
She married Vernon "Bus" Perron on November 15, 1930, in Hailey, Idaho. Bus and Hazel raised 6 children.
Hazel's passions were her family, her church, gardening, crocheting, genealogy, and humanitarian service. Hazel was a licensed nurse, had served as a Stake Relief Society President in the LDS church and fulfilled three full-time missions.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; her husband, Bus Perron (1991); daughter, Darlene (1988); son, Harold (2011); two grandsons, George Trenkle and Gabe Perron; and one great-grandchild, Nathaniel Maynard. She was also preceded in death by many friends – that is the way it is if you live to 102.
Hazel is survived by sons: Wayne (Carolyn), of Dietrich, ID, Bill (Debbie), of Boise, ID; Vernon "Durg" (Kathy), of Hailey, ID; and Denis (Deanna), of Gooding, ID; 34 grandchildren; 116 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, September 24, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shoshone.
Burial will follow at the Shoshone Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel.
