EDENTON - Eula Ambrose Spruill, 90, of the 100 block of Mark Drive, passed away June 21, 2008, in Chesapeake. A native of Washington County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late L.H. and Bertie Ambrose and the widow of John Lee Spruill. She was a caregiver for the elderly in North Carolina and Virginia for many years. She was an avid gardener, master dollmaker and taught dollmaking for many years. Mrs. Spruill lived independently at her home on Mark Drive until just two weeks ago. She is survived by her son Ellis E. "Bill" Snell Jr. and wife Patricia of Chesapeake; her sister, Doris Sharp of Colerain, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kevin Snell and wife Dara of Chesapeake, Cheryl Lepore and husband Michael of Suffolk and Timothy Snell and wife Amanda of Chesapeake; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen, Michael Tyler and Josh. She was predeceased by several sisters and brothers. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at noon in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Bingham officiating. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Brent-Lox Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 1005 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake, VA 23323.
