ERNEST E. POWELL, 61, died yesterday in his home. 1896 River Ave, after an illness of seven years. Born in Philadelpihia, he lived at the River Ave. address 34 years. He was a carpenter. Surviving are his widow, Alice J.; three sons, Edward [Edmund] and William, both of Camden, and Howard, Merchantville; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Shuts and Mrs. Eleanor Klinger, both of Camden; nine grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Edmund Powell, 86, Philadelphia; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper, Ocean Grove; Mrs. Elora [Eleanor] Long, Burholme, PA; and Miss Florence Powell, Philadelphia, and two brothers, the Rev. Robert Powell, Ocean Grove, and George Powell, Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1pm in the residence. The Rev. Albert Van Duzer, rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, Merchantville, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.
