Mrs. Ella Buttrick Merrill passed away in Grand Rapids, Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Merrill was born April 17, 1862, in New York state, coming to Cascade township at the age of 6 weeks, where she has spent her entire life, with the exception of the past five years when she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Rose Hansen in Grand Rapids.

Besides Mrs. Hansen, she leaves three other daughters, Mrs. Grant Warner of Lowell, Mrs. Ben Peck and Mrs. Claud Sturgis of Kalamazoo; three sons, Charles Buttrick of Cascade, Lee Buttrick of Grand Rapids and Hatley Buttrick of Marshall. Also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and hosts of friends.

Mrs. Merrill was Past Matron of Vest Chapter O.E.S. of Ada and Past Noble Grand of Rebecca Lodge of Ada.

Funeral services will be held at Metcalf's chapel this (Thursday) afternoon, at 3:30, Dr. E.A. Thompson officiating. Interment in Cascade cemetery.

Ella had 5 children with Charles R. Buttrick, Jr., and they took over the Washburn farm at 3024 Buttrick Ave in Ada.
