IRONWOOD, Mich. - Edla Helen Morin, 96, of Ironwood, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, in Ironwood.

She was born March 9, 1916, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Olli and Hilia (Mattson) Maki.

Edla was united in marriage with Leo Anderson in 1933, and with Kenneth Morin in 1968. She had been employed as a nurse at the Rundstrom's Twin City Hospital, and later at Grand View Hospital. She had also been employed as a chef at Frankie and Johnny's Supper Club in Ironwood.

Edla was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood. She loved gardening, arts and crafts, sewing and quilting. She made all her own clothes. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. Everyone was always welcome in her home, and a pot of soup was always on the stove.

Edla is survived by two sons, Leo and Russ (Janice) Anderson, both of Ironwood; two daughters, Darley (Rev. Rudolph) Kemppainen, of Ishpeming, and Helen (Edgar) Wills, of Ironwood; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanor Springer, of New Richmond, Wis., Eunice Gougen, of Clinton Township, and Florence Kott, of Ferndale; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Edla was preceded in death by her husbands; two sons, Charles, in 1998, and Raynard, in 2008; four brothers, Eugene, Roy, Ray and John Maki; and two sisters, Viola Snell and Olivia Thomas.





Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.

Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood.
