Miss Ada DeLay Dead
Miss Ada Romane DeLay, who lived at 1009 Exchange, died this morning at 8 o'clock at Newman Memorial County hospital.
Miss DeLay was born in Point Pleasant, W. Va., and came to Kansas with her family in 1903. She was formerly a member of the Methodist church in Emporia, but spent most of her later years at Altamont and Parsons, where she took the place of a mother to her brother's children, after the death of his wife. For a number of years she was secretary for a Kansas City law firm and later at the capitol in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She is survived by a sister, Flora. of the home; three brothers, G.A. DeLay, of Bigelow, Kan.; Paul DeLay, of St. Cloud, Minn.; and C.W. DeLay, 520 State.
Funeral services for Miss Ada Romane DeLay, who died Tuesday morning were held Friday Friday at the Roberts-Blue chapel. The Rev. Frank Elbright, district superintendent of the Methodist church, was in charge of the services. Theodore Owen sang, accompanied by Miss Ann Davies.
The pallbearers were Leigh DeLay, Dean Wagaman, Calvin W. DeLay, and H. J. Choquette, all nephews, and Harold Bixler and O.T. Meyer. Burial was in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Glenn A. DeLay and Miss Louise DeLay of Big Bow, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Choquette, Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin DeLay, Yates Center; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wagaman, and Leigh DeLay, Salina.
