Word has been received of the death of Orrie L Ravenscroft, 89,
Madison, who died March 5, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare.



Ravenscroft

There will be no visitation. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery at Tucson, Ariz.

Ravenscroft was born Dec. 26, 1912, at Cumberland, Md., to William and Pearl (Zals) Ravenscroft.

He was raised in Maryland and owned and operated a grocery store and gas station with his father. He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He married Ada Bell Horton at Cumberland. They moved to Tucson in 1954 where he worked for Seats until his retirement in 1973. Later he worked at Handyman. His wife died on Aug. 23, 1978. He moved to Madison in 1999.

He was a member of the VFW and United Methodist Church in Tucson.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Douglas) McDonald of Madison.

The Ellsworth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
