Death of Fred E. Wallace
Fred E. Wallace died of hemorrhage suddenly at his home on Lafayette street Monday morning. Mr. Wallace had gone out in the yard to do some work when he suffered a sudden attack of hemorrhage of the lungs and died shortly afterward.
Mr. Wallace was a native of New England, born in Wallingford, Conn., September 8, 1852. In the spring of 1881 he came to Missouri, settling in Lafayette county about 3 1/2 miles southwest of Lexington, where he engaged in farming. In the fall of 1882 Mr. Wallace was united in marriage to Miss Alice Earl of this county. Mr. Wallace continued farming until year before last when he moved his family to Lexington. He is survived by his wife and six children, Earl, Walter, Elizabeth, Forrest, Mary and Lucy.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence and was conducted by Rev. R.B. Briney. Interment in Machpelah.
