Also survived by seven grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Andrea, Joshua, Nicole, Ryan and Jake; and two great grandchildren: Samantha and Patric.
-Born and raised in Grand Junction, Walt worked for the D&RGW for 42 years finishing his career as a foreman in the Denver North Yards in 1985. He served 4 years in the US Navy during WWII serving as a gunner on various ships in the Pacific. Mr. Sloan passed away Nov. 13, 2004 at his home in Palisade.
-Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Martin Mortuary. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 10:00 a.m. at Martin Mortuary Chapel, 550 North Ave., Grand Junction, CO 81501 with graveside services to follow at Mesa-Molina Cemetery, Mesa, CO.
