Palisade, husband of Barbara Bridges Sloan, father of J. Robert (Nancy) Sloan, Gary R. (Eileen) Sloan, Shirley L. (Brian) Cott, Suzan M. (Bill) Blake and Sharon A. (Ricky Horn) Vokes. Also survived by seven grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Andrea, Joshua, Nicole, Ryan and Jake; and two great grandchildren: Samantha and Patric.

-Born and raised in Grand Junction, Walt worked for the D&RGW for 42 years finishing his career as a foreman in the Denver North Yards in 1985. He served 4 years in the US Navy during WWII serving as a gunner on various ships in the Pacific. Mr. Sloan passed away Nov. 13, 2004 at his home in Palisade.

-Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Martin Mortuary. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 10:00 a.m. at Martin Mortuary Chapel, 550 North Ave., Grand Junction, CO 81501 with graveside services to follow at Mesa-Molina Cemetery, Mesa, CO.
