Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. , Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mapleton.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday with a 3:45 p.m. prayer service at the church. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born June 30, 1932 to Emil and Theresa (Thomas) Schubbe in Mankato. Bob graduated from Mapleton High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and obtained the rank of Sergeant. Bob was united in marriage to DeeAnn Wiebold on January 12, 1957.
They made their home in Mapleton. Bob owned and operated Schubbe's DX and later the Mapleton Laundry Mat. He also worked for the city of Mapleton and Blue Earth County Highway Department before retiring.
Bob loved to work in his garage, camping, woodworking, watching Western movies on TV, watching grandson Alex race, spending time with family, going for rides in the golf cart with his dog Becca. Bob enjoyed Patsy Cline and his favorite song was "In the Mood".
He is survived by his wife of 55 years DeeAnn Schubbe of Mapleton.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rita Schubbe.
