Born March 15, 1935 in San Francisco, CA, she moved to Barnwell in 1956 with her husband. She enjoyed line dancing at the senior center; she worked with the Good News Club at Blackville Elementary; she was a yearly participant in the annual cancer walk (she was a three time cancer survivor); she taught Sunday school, volunteered at the local nursing home and was an active member of Ashleigh Baptist Church. Her hobbies included bowling, entering canning contests at the Barnwell County Fair, and daily trips to KFC with her pug, Leo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Septem-ber 19, 2012 at 11:00AM in Ashleigh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Scroggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at Mole Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the American Cancer Society or the American Association for the Deaf.
