GULPORT, Miss. -- Warren Edward Shireman, 72, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, in Gulfport.

Mr. Shireman was born in Corydon, Ind., to the late Jess and Clarice Shireman in 1937. He later joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for eight years. He moved the Coast in 1966 after marrying Reba Wigington. He was self-employed as a painting contractor for many years before retiring. He was a devout member of St. James Catholic Church. His generous spirit and heart may be gone, but will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Shireman Smith; his parents; his brothers, Jesse, Fred and Frank Shireman; and his sisters, Mary and Tudy.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Reba W. Shireman; his two granddaughters, Mary Jolene Piper and her husband, James, and Jacqlyn Smith; great-grandson, Ryan Edward Piper, and an expected great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. today, March 24, 2009, at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport.

Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

GULPORT, Miss. -- Warren Edward Shireman, 72, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, in Gulfport.

Mr. Shireman was born in Corydon, Ind., to the late Jess and Clarice Shireman in 1937. He later joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for eight years.
