"Isaac Caryl Sr., whose father, Jonathan, a revolutionary soldier came from England, bought another sixth part of the tract on the south side of the Four Corners. Isaac erected a distillery about 1810. His house probably stood about where his son Leonard Caryl built in 1841, the large brick building still standing."
