PIEDMONT, SC - Albert Capps, 34, died at a Greenville hospital Saturday at 10 a.m. after a brief illness.
A native of Anderson County, his home was at Transylvania Street, Piedmont.
He was a son of Mrs. Ida Orr Capps, who survives, and the late Jessie Henry Capps.
Surviving also are his wife, Mrs. Burnett Barwick Capps; two daughters, Sallie Ann and Susan Capps, both of the home; three brothers, J. H. Capps of Piedmont, Ray and James Capps of Pelzer; five sisters, Mrs. Ellen Wilson of Pelzer, Mrs. Ruby Crone of Piedmont, Mrs. Alice Chastain of Piedmont and Mrs. Willie Hughey of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Mrs. Fay Phillips of Williamston.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church near Piedmont by the Rev. Elmer Jones. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry Caldwell, Jim Hughey, Bill Harold Garrett, Cecil Stegall, Tommy League and William Norris.
Honorary escort will be John P. Pack, Herman Smith, Joe Spearman, Brooks Gillespie, James Wilson, Shuler Jones, Hovey Reeves, Jerry Fisher, Bill Hankins, Jamie Poole, Buck Owens, Johnny Reeves, Luther Smith, Frank Smith, Charlie Aiken, Will Aiken, Jimmy Wilson, DeWitt Simpson, Clyde Trotter, Ernest Trotter, Carl Pace, Clarence Hammonds, Troy Davis and Men's Bible Class of Oak Grove Church.
The body will be at the home after 11 a.m. Sunday. Gray Mortuary is in charge.
