Name on tombstone: Ailcey. Name often spelled with variants in census records (Elsa, Elsie, Alsey, etc).

Daughter of Abraham Ausman and Easter Chalmers. Born near Hamilton County, Ohio 1811. Married Richard Perry Veal July 10, 1830 in Brown County, Ohio. About 1837 the family moved to Miami County, Indiana, first near Richland and later in Washington, Miami County. In 1866 several families traveled from Miami County to Princeton, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota in a wagon train - Ailcey and Richard and their extended family included. Richard died shortly after their arrival in Princeton, but Ailcey lived for another 22 years.
