Edwina Thorn Cline Ott, 92, of Elizabeth, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Sharonbrook in Newark, Ohio.

She was born May 19, 1918 in Wellsville, Ohio, and was a graduate of Glenville State College. Edwina was a teacher in Wirt County where she began her career teaching grades 1-8 in a one-room school. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Pioneers where she worked tirelessly to improve the Beauchamp-Newman Museum.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Edwin Ott; brother, David Floyd Thorn; sister, Helen Schwartz.

She is survived by her son, Charles Russell "Bud" Ott (Joy) of Utica, Ohio; grandson, Anthony C. Ott (Terri) of Powell, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Emilie Isabelle Ott; sisters, Virginia Violet Gray of Houston, Texas and Jean Ellen Huffman of San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Busch-Kimes Funeral Home Chapel, 836 Washington Street, Elizabeth with The Rev. Mark McCoy officiating.

Burial will follow in Thorn Addition Cemetery, Palestine, W.Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beauchamp-Newman Museum, Box 621, Elizabeth, WV 26143.
