Lelah Shumate, age 80, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2001, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Glenn Shock, Pastor of First Baptist Church and A.B. Martin officiated. Interment was in Henson Cemetery, Red Springs, Texas under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Mrs. Shumate and W.L. "Bill" Shumate were married in August, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1989.

Mrs. Shumate was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a campfire leader; Lifetime PTA member; Charter member of the Goodwill Ambassadors; a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Theta Rho sponsor.
