Frank D. Sorenson, 74, of Macomb, died at 9:04 AM Tuesday April 4, 2006 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. He was born February 18, 1932 in Nelson, Nebraska to Alfred William and Esther Bailey Sorenson, he married Margery DeLamatre June 10, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters . Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He received his Bachelors, Master and Doctorate in Education from the University of Nebraska. He was Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Ft. Madison, IA; he was an Educational Administration professor at Western Illinois University from 1965-1992. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Macomb Elks Lodge #1009, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Volunteer Now, served on the Governors Commission for Volunteerism, Macomb Community Theatre, past President of AARP and State University Annuitants Association. He was a Football and Basketball official for over 40 years. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Rev. Russell Smith will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Cremation has been accorded.
