Carl Thomas Darley, 85, passed away October 25, 2004 in Salt Lake City of complications from pneumonia. He was born June 21, 1919 in Portage, Utah to George and Mary Grace Darley. He served honorably during World War II and loved his life's work as an aircraft specialist that took him around the globe. He had an avid love for reading and learning. He married Zella Bassett, June 20, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died during childbirth in 1948. He later was married to Lorraine Winger from 1942 to 1965. While working in Japan, he met and married Hisako Ishikawa. He lived in Japan for 30 years before returning to Utah in 1999. He was preceded in death by Zella, Hisako; his parents; a son, Bruce Thomas Darley; and a brother, Lloyd Darley. Survived by daughters, Kathleen Wedin (Galen), Patty Conn (Kemp), and Zella Dahlquist (Charles); Sisters Lola Yearout (Mike), Marie Garner (Eldon) and sister-in-law, Martha Darley; two brothers, Keith Darley (Maxine) and Grant Darley; grandchildren and great-grand-children. Interment was Friday October 29 in Rupert, Idaho. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who have cared for him over the past few years; and staff and friends at The Highland Cove Retirement Center.
