Ada "Dolly" Hoyt-Shillinglaw was born in Hays City Kansas,on Jan 6 1881, the 6th child, of Lorne Acil and Alice (Thompson)-Hoyt. Ada came with her family to Sand Lake, Oregon in 1887, where she grew up. She went to Iowa where she met and married Allan Shillinglaw. She followed Allan to Alberta with her 2 oldest boys, Merton and Cecil and her father-in-law, William in 1904. They homesteaded here in 1905 on the SE 32-41-15. Ada died of influenza and in child birth Feb 19 1919. Two of her babies are buried on the very S.E. corner of the old homestead (with markers.)
