James was the 2nd son of Harvey R and Rosinah (Wrigth) Hubbard.
... married Hannah Jameson, abt 1865, in Wayne County, Michigan - together they had at least 9 children. Hannah was the daughter of Robert Jameson and Mary Woodruff. She died Sep 27, 1905.
... On De 29, 1906, he married Mrs Eurania Sarah Whitman, daughter of Zachaiah Eddy and Thankful Chase.
... Three years later, on Apr 14, 1909, he would marry a third time to Mrs Paulina Tyler, the daughter of Daniel H Ballon and Mercy J Hix.

.... Aug 17, 1918, he died of Arteriosclerosis, at the Traverse City State Hospital, in Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan. The informant on the death certificate was his attending physician, Dr. Paul H Piper, who listed him as "married", "farmer", "born July 1841 - day unknown"; aged 77years-1month. Dr Piper also listed James parents as Harry and Rosa (Wright) Hubbard.

He was interred on Aug 20, 1918 in Traverse City, as recorded by Ralph Anderson, Undertaker, of Traverse City, Michigan.
