Death of Mrs. Sarah V. Ashurst
Mrs. Sarah Virginia Ashurst died at 3 o'clock Tuesday morning at her home on East Main street, following a long illness from complication of diseases.
Mrs. Ashurst was born in Georgetown, Kentucky, December 15, 1840. She was married to R.P. Ashurst in 1857. Mr. Ashurst died in 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Ashurst moved to Missouri in 1885, coming to Lexington from Saline county in 1910. The deceased was the mother of twelve children, all of whom survive and are as follows: Abram W., Manila, P.I.; James H., Kansas City; Robert E., Fulton, MO.; William T., Nevada.; John I., Lexington; L.B., Oklahoma; R.P., Alma; Mrs. Leyton Yancy, Beverly Hills, Calif.; Mrs. M.G. Philpott, Hollywood, Calif.; Misses Alma and Irene V., Lexington. Four brothers, J.G. Ware, Mexico, Mo.; L.V. Ware, Sedalia, Mo.; George and R.S. Ware, Georgetown, Ky., also survive her.
The funeral was held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.C. Miller.
