STAIRHIME Richard Gene Stairhime, 89, of Mobile, AL, passed away September 13. He was born in 1923 to Jacob and Ada Stairhime, of Monroeville, Indiana.
Mr. Shairhime served his country as a member of the US Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific theatre and also served in the Korean War. As a proud veteran of World War II, he traveled to Washington DC, in May of 2012, as a member of Honor Flight VII. Mr. Stairhime retired after 25 years of employment as a Safety Director for International Paper Co. in Mobile, AL and Natchez, MS. In his spare time, Mr. Stairhime was active in Government Street Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge #895. With a love of travel, Mr. Stairhime was also a member of an Airstream Trailering club for 25 years.
Services are to be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home and Cemetery on Dauphin Island Pkwy, Monday, September 17 with visitation from 12:00 until 1:00, with services at 1:00 in the chapel.
