George Clyde "Red" Smith, 303 Park Avenue, died Monday at his residence after an illness of one year.

The son of the late Mack and Ellie Johnson Smith, he was born October 18, 1900 in Wayne County.

He was married to Winnie Lee Burgin in 1932 at Stanford. Mr. Smith was a retired carpenter and a member of the High Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Aurella Siller, Somerset; two step-daughters, Wanda Lee Stone, Hawaii, and Ethetna Berlencourt, El Cajon, California, and one step-son, Frank Garner, Somerset, and one brother Verthel Smith Danville, IL

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company with the Rev. Charles Burress officiating.

Burial in the West Somerset Cemetery.
