She was born in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. When she was about eleven years old, her family moved to the Community of Centerville in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. This was along Bayou Cocodrie. She married Sam C. Duplissey in 1922. In the fall of 1943 Sam, Beckie and family moved near Glenmora in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Beckie died in a car and train crash in Cheneyville, Louisiana in 1959.
